A Global Mix of Talent Joins the Scarlet Knights
Italian guard/forward Diego Garavaglia arrives after a standout stint with Ratiopharm Ulm in Germany’s Basketball Bundesliga. A product of the Adidas Next Generation Tournament, he represented Italy at FIBA junior events and is known for his versatility and toughness.
Slovenian forward Martin Tonejc, a product of KK Cedevita Olimpija’s academy in Ljubljana, brings a championship pedigree after helping the club capture the Slovenian National Championship. His international résumé includes extensive experience across European competitions.
Guard Rasheed Jones, a native of Marion, Indiana, comes to Piscataway after two collegiate stops at Coastal Carolina and Northwest Florida State College. Last season he averaged 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists, earning a reputation for size, defense and shooting.
Center Dorin Buca, hailing from Perugia, Italy, adds height and rim protection to the frontcourt. He previously played for Kansas State and professionally in Italy, and he is among the tallest players ever to wear a Rutgers jersey.
Forward Will Sydnor, a Bronx native, joins after earning MAAC Rookie of the Year honors at Manhattan College. As a true freshman he posted 13.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, praised for his high‑IQ play and versatility.
