On the evening of July 18, a domestic dispute in Niles escalated when 39‑year‑old Kenneth E. Young III brandished a fist and a hockey puck toward a victim, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
Young was charged with second‑degree menacing, third‑degree menacing and fourth‑degree criminal possession of a weapon, offenses that carry varying penalties under New York law.
After the confrontation, Young fled the scene before deputies arrived, but he later turned himself in at the county Public Safety Building, where he was processed and arraigned.
He was released on his own recognizance, meaning he does not have to post bail, and will return to Niles Town Court on August 6 at 5:30 p.m.
