A Decade of Academic Excellence
The Saint Francis men's volleyball program has been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association for academic prowess, earning the AVCA Team Academic Award for the tenth straight year. During the 2025‑2026 academic year the team posted a collective GPA of 3.48, comfortably above the 3.30 threshold required for the honor.
Championship Momentum
In April the Red Flash captured the Northeast Conference title, a triumph that paved the way for the program's inaugural appearance in the NCAA tournament. The victory underscored the team's competitive growth and reinforced its reputation as a rising force in collegiate volleyball.
A Milestone for the Program
Beyond the hardware, the achievement reflects a broader culture of excellence that has been cultivated over the past decade. With a stable coaching staff, robust support services, and a recruiting philosophy that balances athletic talent with academic ambition, Saint Francis has positioned itself as a model for mid‑major programs.
Mike Rumbaugh celebrated the milestone alongside his teammates, underscoring the collective nature of the achievement.
The historic run not only marks a breakthrough on the national stage but also reinforces the program's commitment to developing student‑athletes who excel in the classroom and on the court.
