Sean Maddox entered his first year as head coach of the Bozeman football program after Kevin Pettis departed for Marianna, bringing a new perspective and a clear vision for the Bucks.
The squad has embraced the offseason with a level of dedication that stands out, as roughly 45 to 50 players show up daily for intense summer workouts.
Building Endurance and Core Principles
Maddox’s spring sessions focused on establishing base concepts while rallying the team around a shared identity, emphasizing physical conditioning and stamina ahead of the season.
The coach noted that June and July were dedicated to improving the players’ endurance, ensuring they arrive at the July 27 season opener in peak shape.
New League Landscape
This year the Bucks will compete in the FHSAA’s Independent League, a grouping that also includes Graceville and Wewahitchka, marking a shift from previous conference alignments.
Maddox stressed that the team will adhere to its core principles throughout the campaign, using the new league as a platform to test and refine their approach.
