A Homecoming for a Bearcats Legend
Dylan Minnick, a 2025 graduate of Baruch College who earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Philosophy, has been appointed assistant coach for the Baruch men’s basketball program. His return marks a full‑circle moment for a player who once wore the Bearcats’ jersey with distinction.
During his collegiate career, Minnick helped the Bearcats capture three CUNYAC titles and compile a 77‑34 record, while earning a reputation as a tenacious guard who led the team to three NCAA Tournament appearances. He served as team captain in his senior season and was recognized for both athletic and academic excellence.
Minnick’s coaching résumé includes seven years with Steady Buckets Basketball, a premier youth program in New York City that provides year‑round training and mentorship. He progressed from assistant coach to head coach, overseeing the development of thousands of young athletes and emphasizing leadership, skill development, and community engagement.
Building the Future of Baruch Basketball
Baruch Athletic Director Heather Mac Culloch highlighted Minnick’s blend of playing experience, coaching acumen, and academic insight as a perfect fit for the program’s ambitions. “We are excited to welcome Dylan back to the Bearcats family,” she said. “His commitment to player development aligns with our vision for sustained competitiveness.”
Tammer Farid, who oversees basketball operations at Steady Buckets, praised Minnick’s mentorship style. “Dylan’s ability to connect with players of all ages has been instrumental in shaping the next generation of talent,” Farid noted. “His transition to the collegiate level brings a fresh perspective and a deep well of knowledge to our campus.”
Minnick, who resides in New York City, holds dual citizenship in the United States and is fluent in English. He joins a Baruch program that finished the previous season with a 36‑6 conference record, positioning the Bearcats for another strong campaign under his guidance.
