The American Conference is set to host its annual Football Kickoff and Media Days in St. Petersburg, Florida, on July 23‑24, bringing together all 14 head coaches and 28 student‑athletes for a series of press sessions and promotional activities.
A Milestone for UTSA
UTSA will begin its 16th football season under head coach Jeff Traylor, who has compiled a 53‑26 record over six years and guided the program to bowl eligibility each year, including three consecutive victories.
The Roadrunners open the season on September 5 against UTRGV at the Alamodome, then travel through a slate that features matchups with Texas State, Texas, Colorado State, South Florida, Navy, North Texas, Tulsa, Rice, Tulane, Florida Atlantic and UAB.
Conference‑wide Bowl Success
The American Conference capped the 2025 season by sending nine teams to bowl games, highlighted by Tulane’s selection as the No. 11 seed for the College Football Playoff. The league also recorded wins over opponents from the Big 12, ACC, Conference USA and the Mountain West, underscoring its growing competitiveness.
Conference officials emphasized the importance of these media days as a platform for coaches to discuss strategy and for athletes to engage with fans ahead of a highly anticipated schedule.
