The Chicago Blackhawks have unveiled their full 84‑game slate for the 2026‑27 NHL season, marking the first year the league has expanded the regular schedule from 82 to 84 games.
Season Highlights
The campaign begins on September 29, when the Blackhawks travel to face the Vegas Golden Knights in the season‑opening matchup.
October will bring a seven‑game homestand that includes a showdown with the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Carolina Hurricanes, among several other opponents.
The schedule also features two regular‑season games in Düsseldorf, Germany, as part of the NHL Global Series, bringing an international dimension to the lineup.
All‑Star Weekend will grant the Blackhawks a ten‑day hiatus from January 31 through February 9, allowing players to take part in the festivities in New York.
Game Times and Rivalries
Starting this season, most weekday home games will tip off at 7 p.m., a shift from the traditional 7:30 p.m., while the club will host 22 games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday to capture prime‑time audiences.
The calendar also includes a New Year’s Day clash with the Boston Bruins and a Halloween meeting with the same opponent, adding historic rivalries to the mix.
