A Dual‑Sport Prospect Eyes Miami University
Max Bollman, a senior defensive lineman from Big Rapids, Michigan, has officially committed to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, bringing a rare blend of gridiron grit and golf finesse to the campus.
During the spring, Bollman helped the Cardinals capture the conference championship, averaging 90.3 strokes per 18 holes and earning All‑CSAA honorable mention. Coach Mark Posey praised his short game and consistency, noting that Bollman's best round of 85 at Katke highlighted his potential.
On the football field, Bollman recorded 39 assists, 19 solo tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 13 sacks and two fumble recoveries, leading his team to both the Central State Activities Association title and a Division 4 district championship. His performance earned him the Pioneer Dream Team’s Defensive Player of the Year award.
Bollman, who has played golf since childhood and joined the team this season, says the mental attitude of the squad was a key factor in their success and expresses excitement about continuing both sports at the collegiate level.
