The Adirondack Thunder, an ECHL franchise linked to the New Jersey Devils and the Utica Comets, has announced the signing of forward Michael Abgrall for the 2026‑27 season.
A Fresh Face in the Empire State
At 22, the Richmond, British Columbia native brings a blend of collegiate experience and junior‑league production that made him an attractive prospect for the Thunder’s management.
His most recent stint at the College of the Holy Cross saw him record 23 points in 37 games, a performance that adds depth to the team’s forward lines.
Across his collegiate career, which included seasons at both the College of the Holy Cross and the University of Nebraska‑Omaha, Abgrall tallied 51 points in 104 appearances, demonstrating a steady offensive output.
Before reaching the NCAA level, he dominated the British Columbia Hockey League, posting 101 points in 133 games for the Surrey Eagles and the Powell River Kings, experiences that honed his scoring instincts.
The Thunder’s affiliation with the New Jersey Devils and the Utica Comets also opens the possibility of NHL development pathways, a prospect that excites both the player and the organization.
Based in Glens Falls, New York, the team hopes the addition of a player with a strong BCHL pedigree will help translate its developmental success into more wins on the ice.
