A New Era for Soccer in Idaho
The stadium in Garden City, Idaho, officially opened its gates in March 2026, marking the state’s first venue built specifically for professional soccer. The transformation turned a historic horse‑racing track into a modern, FIFA‑standard arena that now serves as the home of Athletic Club Boise’s USL League One men’s side and, beginning in fall 2027, will host a USL Super League women’s team.
Architectural firm Cushing Terrell led the redesign, emphasizing safety, accessibility and the adaptive reuse of the 27‑acre site. The firm upgraded the infrastructure, added dedicated accessible spaces and integrated a range of amenities that reflect the region’s growing sports culture.
With a capacity of roughly 7,200 spectators, the venue offers a variety of seating experiences. Fans can choose from premium seats, VIP suites and the Turf Club, while a beer garden provides food, drinks and a communal gathering space. A large scoreboard crowns the south‑end supporter section, enhancing the visual impact of the matches.
The River Guard, Athletic Club Boise’s passionate fan group, has already made the stadium its home base, fostering a vibrant atmosphere for every game. Meanwhile, the Ford Family Zone delivers lower‑priced game‑day tickets, broadening access for families and younger fans.
Beyond the field, the development plans envision a mixed‑use destination that will integrate retail, dining and public spaces, turning the site into a year‑round community hub. Boise Pro Soccer CEO Brad Stith, who co‑founded the club, says the stadium represents a pivotal step toward establishing Boise as a permanent fixture on the national soccer map.
