After opening the year with four wins in his first six starts, Demko’s momentum was interrupted by a maintenance day in mid‑November, a brief return on November 11, and a subsequent injury against the Winnipeg Jets that sidelined him for roughly a month.
His most productive stretch arrived in December, where he reeled off three straight victories and logged a shutout streak of 150 minutes and 53 seconds, culminating in a win over the New York Islanders on December 19.
Looking Ahead to Recovery
General Manager Ryan Johnson expressed cautious optimism that the hip procedure undergone in January will address the majority of Demko’s lingering issues, and the goalie plans to remain in Vancouver throughout the off‑season to focus on rehabilitation.
