Purple Reign to Face JHX Hoops in TBT Alumni Series

Kansas State alumni team prepares for best‑of‑three showdown with Frank Mason III’s squad

The Basketball Tournament is set to showcase a clash of former college stars as Kansas State’s alumni squad, known as Purple Reign, meets the Kansas alumni team JHX Hoops in a best‑of‑three series that begins on July 21.

Games will be staged at two of the university’s home venues, with the opener at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan and a second contest at Lee Arena in Topeka, while a potential third game returns to Bramlage on July 24.

Series schedule and venues

Television coverage will be split between FS1 and FS2 for the first two outings, and if a decider is needed it will stream live on YouTube, giving fans multiple ways to follow the action.

Tickets for the opening night go on sale May 19 at 5 p.m. CT through the K‑State Athletic Ticket Office, with general admission starting at $15 and premium options available; the first 200 K‑State students will receive free entry.

Purple Reign will be guided by former First Team All‑American Michael Beasley, while JHX Hoops draws its leadership from former NBA point guard Frank Mason III, both of whom bring championship pedigrees to the court.

The tournament’s new format pits 16 teams against each other for a $2 million prize pool, and the winner of the Purple Reign/JHX Hoops series is slated to confront the victor of the Wichita State‑New Mexico matchup in the second round.

The Alumni Bracket Championship is scheduled for July 29 at 6 p.m. CT on FS1, after which the competition will shift to a single‑elimination structure for the remainder of the event.

Beyond the alumni bracket, non‑alumni teams will compete in the Las Vegas Bracket at the M Resort Spa Casino from July 22‑30, with the Las Vegas champion earning a showdown against the Alumni Bracket winner on August 2 on FOX.

Purple Reign is organized by former Wildcats Jordan Henriquez‑Roberts, D.J. Johnson and Martavious Irving, with Henriquez‑Roberts serving as head coach for the fifth straight summer; the roster is expected to feature Jacob Pullen and Xavier Sneed among others.
