A Coach at a Crossroads
Bill Voorhis has long been a fixture on the sidelines of Missouri high school sports, known first for guiding Fair Grove’s football program to a state championship game and more recently for steering his twin daughters’ travel softball team.
Over the past eight years he added another layer to his coaching portfolio, taking the helm of the high school softball squad for the last two seasons while still maintaining his football commitments.
Now, as he prepares to step into the role of Kickapoo’s head football coach, Voorhis reflects on the delicate balance between two demanding seasons that often overlap, forcing him to consider stepping away from one of his beloved positions.
