Playoff Brackets Unveiled
The state baseball association has confirmed the playoff brackets for both the 3A and 2-1A divisions, setting the stage for a week of opening‑round contests that begin on Wednesday and Thursday.
In the 2-1A Regional 2 bracket, Southern Lyon County earned the fourth seed and will host Yates Center, while Northern Heights draws the top‑ranked Central Heights. Chase County secured the seventh seed and will welcome Marion to its home field.
Both MdCV and Lebo‑Wavery will travel for their first‑round games, with the Trojans facing third‑seeded Moundridge on the road and the Wolfdogs heading to Uniontown.
All 2-1A quarterfinal matchups are slated for Thursday, giving teams just one day to recover before the next round of play.
The 3A Regional 3 bracket sees Council Grove claim the top seed and host Herington, while Osage City will make the trip to Trinity Academy for its opening game. Those quarterfinal contests are scheduled for Wednesday.
