A season of recognition
The Big South Conference recently unveiled its all‑conference teams and academic honors, spotlighting a standout campaign for Presbyterian College’s baseball program. The Lancers celebrated multiple first‑team recognitions that underscore the squad’s growing competitiveness in the league.
Freshman phenom Bo Moody made history as the program’s inaugural Freshman of the Year recipient. In addition to the award, Moody earned spots on both the All‑Big South Second Team and the All‑Freshman Team, underscoring his immediate impact.
Moody’s contributions were felt across the board: he topped the team with 14 stolen bases, 39 runs scored and 23 walks, while ranking second in hits with 55 and posting a .304 batting average and a .424 on‑base percentage.
Sophomore Matthew Rollison and Tyrell Williams also secured places on the All‑Big South Second Team. Rollison led the club in OPS (.878) and slugging percentage (.533) while adding three triples, whereas Williams paced the staff with a 4.86 ERA, 51 strikeouts, a 1.48 WHIP and 70.1 innings pitched.
Amman Dewberry, a redshirt junior, received dual honors: he was named to the conference’s All‑Academic Team and proved to be the team’s most potent power hitter, launching 11 home runs and driving in 36 runs. His career total of 22 homers places him among the program’s all‑time leaders.
The collective accolades reflect more than individual brilliance; they signal a culture of excellence that blends athletic performance with academic achievement. Coaches and support staff, including Chris Veach, Tristan McGregor, Andrew Williams and Brad Zebedis, have cultivated an environment where talent can flourish.
