Nineteen student‑athletes from the Summit League have been named to the 2025‑26 NABC Honors Court, a distinction that celebrates both athletic participation and academic excellence.
The honorees, all juniors, seniors or graduate students, maintained a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2, the benchmark set by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for the prestigious court.
South Dakota State and Omaha led the conference with five selections each, while St. Thomas contributed four, North Dakota State three and Denver two, reflecting a strong academic culture across the league.
In addition to individual accolades, five Summit League teams earned NABC Team Academic Excellence awards after posting a collective GPA of 3.0 or higher, underscoring the conference’s commitment to scholarly achievement.
Executive Director Emphasizes Education
Craig Robinson, executive director of the NABC, praised the players for embodying the organization’s belief that “education is as important as the game,” noting that the recognition highlights the growing emphasis on academic success in college basketball.
The honored athletes hail from institutions across the league, including Denver, North Dakota State, Omaha, South Dakota State and St. Thomas, illustrating the conference’s geographic diversity and academic rigor.
