Jason Wachs, a sophomore outfielder for Tulane University, has been named to the American Conference’s 2026 First Team All-Conference, a testament to his dominant performance over the 56-game schedule.
The league’s 10 head coaches voted him onto the first team after he topped the Green Wave in batting average (.327), slugging percentage (.527), on-base percentage (.453), runs (48), hits (66), doubles (21), home runs (9) and RBIs (54).
His durability was a key factor, as he appeared in every game and was one of only three players to start all of them, underscoring his reliability in the lineup.
Statistical Impact
Wachs’s 21 doubles not only led the conference but also placed him 10th nationally, while his 54 RBIs ranked third within the league, highlighting his ability to drive in runs at crucial moments.
He also paced the team with 19 multiple-hit games and 17 games featuring multiple RBIs, demonstrating a consistency that kept the offense humming throughout the season.
Weekly Recognition
Earlier in the year he earned the league’s Player of the Week honor on May 11 and was repeatedly placed on the Weekly Honor Roll on March 23 and April 13, accolades that reflected his sustained excellence.
The recognition comes from a voting body composed of the conference’s head coaches, who evaluated each player’s contributions across the full slate of games.
