Texas Tech’s women’s soccer program is already looking ahead to the 2026 campaign, taking advantage of an extra two‑week window granted by the NCAA to fine‑tune fitness and chemistry before the first whistle.
A Head Start in Lubbock
The Red Raiders finished last season at 14‑2‑5, advancing to the second round of the postseason, and the coaching staff is leveraging that momentum. An extended training period gives players a chance to build on the work they did in the offseason, focusing on strength, conditioning, and tactical cohesion.
Among the newcomers is goalkeeper Addie Todd, a transfer from Florida State who posted 17 saves and allowed just seven goals in eight appearances for the Seminoles last year. Coach Stone highlighted her leadership and experience, calling her a valuable piece for the squad.
Todd said she feels welcomed by her new teammates and is eager to see how her skill set translates on the field. The staff also welcomed back fifth‑year defender Kylie Bahr, who has battled back‑to‑back knee injuries to become a cornerstone of the defense.
Resilience and Leadership
Bahr’s journey through injury has turned her into a model of perseverance. Coach Stone notes that she has evolved into a leader much like other greats to wear the scarlet and black, guiding younger players both on and off the pitch.
Alongside Bahr, a group of returning athletes — including Macy Blackburn, Jalen Hinkle, Kirsten Davis and Hannah Anderson — are shaping the team’s chemistry as the roster blends experience with fresh talent.
Opening the Season
The schedule kicks off on August 13 with a road test at Hawaii, followed by a home opener against Boise State on August 23. The Big 12 slate begins a week later at UCF on August 17, setting the stage for a demanding but exciting start.
