Julian Lewis, the Colorado quarterback, is entering his sophomore season with high expectations, and much of that optimism hinges on his top target, Danny Scudero.
A Chemistry Built in More Than One Way
Scudero arrived in Boulder after a standout year at San Jose State, where he topped the nation in receiving yards and also led the Football Bowl Subdivision in both catches and yards against man coverage.
The two have taken their connection beyond the field, sharing an apartment building in the same complex, a detail that has helped them develop timing and trust that coaches say is rare at the collegiate level.
Colorado’s receiving corps also features several other playmakers who could stretch defenses and open up the Go‑Go scheme. DeAndre Moore Jr., a transfer from Texas, is projected as the No. 7 wide receiver prospect for the 2027 NFL Draft, while Kam Perry, a former Miami (OH) standout, is regarded as one of the nation’s most potent deep threats.
Ernest Campbell, who transferred from Sacramento State, earned Freshman All‑American honors in the FCS and adds a physical dimension to the group.
Offensive coordinator Brennan Marion has spoken about the depth of talent, noting that the roster contains four or five receivers with the potential to reach the NFL. He says the Go‑Go offense’s vertical‑shot philosophy aligns perfectly with the skill sets of Scudero, Moore Jr., Perry and Campbell.
The scheme emphasizes quick, deep passes that force defenses to choose between protecting the sideline or playing deep, a strategy that leverages the speed and route‑running of the Buffaloes’ receivers.
With the chemistry between Lewis and Scudero already evident, and with a supporting cast that can threaten defenses at multiple levels, Colorado’s offense is positioned to be one of the most dynamic in the Pac‑12 this fall.
