A Season of Recognition
The American Conference recently unveiled its 2026 season superlatives, spotlighting a standout performance by the UAB Blazers. Six players from the program earned conference honors, underscoring the team’s depth and talent.
At the center of the celebration is Coach Casey Dunn, who was named Coach of the Year for the first time in his career. His leadership has been credited with transforming the squad into a competitive force.
John Paul Head and Max Price earned spots on the First Team, with Head leading the conference in home runs and stolen bases. Price’s .968 OPS and six homers highlighted a breakout season that left many analysts impressed.
Landon Beaver received a Second Team nod after posting a .322 batting average and adding 16 doubles, while three freshmen — Baylor Roberts, Austin Pierzynski and Carter Samuelson — were selected to the All‑Freshman Team. Roberts started 53 of 54 games, Pierzynski contributed six homers and an .801 OPS, and Samuelson logged 56.1 innings, earning five wins.
Looking Ahead to Clearwater
The Blazers are set to travel to Clearwater, Florida, for the American Baseball Championship, where they will enjoy a first‑round bye. The tournament promises to be a showcase for the program’s momentum heading into the next season.
