The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has revealed the 2025‑26 cohort of its Team Academic Excellence Award winners and Honors Court members, spotlighting programs and student‑athletes that have excelled in the classroom as well as on the court.
Honors Court Highlights
Among the honorees, the University of Pennsylvania contributed five players to the NABC Honors Court: Ethan Roberts, Cam Thrower, TJ Power, Augustus Gerhart and Michael Zanoni. Each of them maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher throughout the 2025‑26 academic year.
The Team Academic Excellence Award, which requires a squad to post a collective GPA of at least 3.0 for the season, was bestowed upon five Ivy League institutions, including Penn, Columbia, Cornell, Harvard and Yale, underscoring the conference’s commitment to academic rigor.
Nationwide, more than 2,300 players earned a spot on the Honors Court and over 400 programs received the Team Academic Excellence Award, reflecting a growing emphasis on balancing athletic ambition with scholarly achievement.
