Academic Honors Recognized
The Mount St. Mary's men's basketball program has added another layer of distinction to a standout season, as four of its student‑athletes earned placement on the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court.
Xavier Lipscomb, John Miller IV, Patrick Haigh and Mason So, all graduate students or juniors, maintained cumulative GPAs of 3.2 or higher, meeting the stringent criteria for the NABC Honors Court.
Team Academic Excellence Award
In addition to individual accolades, the entire roster garnered the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award after posting a collective GPA of 3.0 or above, underscoring the program’s commitment to scholarly achievement.
Craig Robinson, executive director of the NABC, praised the student‑athletes for balancing rigorous academics with competitive athletics, noting that such accomplishments set a benchmark for college basketball.
The recognition comes as the team continues to build on its recent successes on the court, with coaches and administrators highlighting the synergy between athletic performance and academic rigor.
