UAC Unveils First Men's Basketball Slate
The United Athletic Conference (UAC) revealed its debut men's basketball schedule on Wednesday, setting the stage for a 2026‑27 season that will see Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) contest 16 league games, half at home and half away.
The schedule opens on Jan. 6 when EKU travels to face Austin Peay, and the Wildcats will then enjoy a three‑game home stretch in January, hosting West Georgia, Tarleton and North Alabama in succession.
February brings a mix of road trips and home contests, highlighted by a Feb. 3 showdown at Texas‑Arlington in Richmond and a Feb. 6 visit to North Alabama before EKU hosts Central Arkansas, Abilene Christian and Austin Peay later in the month.
Coaching storylines and tournament details
Little Rock will be led by first‑year head coach Travis Ford, a former Kentucky player who previously coached EKU from 2000 to 2005. The regular season will wrap up with a road swing through Texas, where EKU meets Abilene Christian and Texas‑Arlington, while the conference tournament is slated for March 10‑13, with the venue still to be announced.
Season ticket holders for EKU can begin renewing their seats starting Aug. 1, ensuring continued support for the Wildcats as they embark on the historic inaugural campaign.
