Four former Jacksonville University men's basketball players have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Academic Honors Court, a distinction that celebrates student‑athletes who excel both on the hardwood and in the classroom.
Allen Udemadu, Jaylen Jordon, Simon Wheeler and junior Tito Deng all posted a cumulative GPA above 3.2 during the 2025‑26 season, contributing to a program‑record team average of 3.35.
Udemadu, who is completing a Master of Organizational Leadership, earned a 3.835 GPA and was also selected to the All‑ASUN Academic Team, highlighting the depth of academic talent on the roster.
A Record‑Setting Academic Season
The 2025‑26 campaign marked the most Dolphins ever honored by the NABC in a single season, underscoring a cultural shift toward balancing athletic ambition with scholarly achievement.
The NABC annually recognizes over 2,300 student‑athletes nationwide for their classroom performance, and this year Jacksonville joined a short list of programs that have repeatedly placed players on the Honors Court.
This is only the second consecutive year that the university has had at least one representative on the NABC Honors Court, and it is the fifth time in program history that its athletes have earned the distinction, a testament to sustained academic excellence.
University officials praised the students for embodying the institution’s commitment to developing well‑rounded leaders, noting that the recognition reflects both individual dedication and the supportive environment fostered by coaches and staff.
