As the 2026 high school football season approaches, Livingston County finds itself at a crossroads. A wave of senior talent is set to graduate, leaving a vacuum at the wide receiver position that has long defined the region’s offensive identity.
A Legacy of Production
Pinckney has built a reputation for churning out elite receivers, with 18 different players combining for 24 300‑yard seasons. The 2026 squad could continue that tradition, featuring senior Andrew Buchanan, sophomore Mason Buchanan, and junior Oliver Wendel, each poised to carry the mantle forward.
Among the names already generating buzz is Jamo Parsell of Brighton. In his previous campaign he recorded 31 receptions for 611 yards and nine touchdowns, a production level that has placed him in conversations about all‑time greats for the program.
Brighton’s Jayden Ciponaer adds another dimension with his versatility. He finished the last season with 14 catches for 203 yards, but his impact extends beyond the gridiron, making him a multi‑threat athlete.
Hartland’s Coen Chwalek, a multi‑sport standout, may have only one catch for a 36‑yard gain last year, yet his athletic profile suggests he could emerge as a surprise contributor when the season unfolds.
