Owls Shine in Conference USA Honors
The Conference USA postseason awards have put a spotlight on Kennesaw State’s baseball squad, with five players from the Owls earning recognition.
Daniel Powell, a relief pitcher who appeared in a team‑high 25 games and logged 53 innings, was named to the All‑CUSA team for the second straight season, underscoring the consistency of the Owls’ bullpen.
Utility player Cooper Williams, who started every Conference USA contest and appeared in all 56 regular‑season games, earned All‑CUSA honors after hitting .312/.395/.485 with 18 extra‑base hits, the best offensive numbers on the team.
Freshmen Josh Gibbs, Grayson McCollum and Jayden Summerville rounded out the All‑Freshman team, each contributing distinct strengths: Gibbs posted a .250/.336/.390 line with eight extra‑base hits, McCollum hit .284/.348/.328 with five doubles and 21 RBIs at third base, and Summerville opened his collegiate career by striking out three of the first four batters he faced.
Kennesaw State’s representation on the All‑Freshman team led the conference with three selections, continuing a pattern from the previous season and suggesting a deep talent pipeline for the program.
