Feliciano’s On‑Field Brilliance
Feliciano’s three‑year stint with the Bisons from 2009 to 2011 cemented his place in franchise history. He amassed 340 games played, three consecutive 100‑hit seasons, and a .339 average in 2010, the second‑best single‑season mark in team history. His 11 outfield assists that year ranked second in the International League, and he was named the Herd’s Stan Barron Most Valuable Player in 2009. Feliciano also represented Puerto Rico in the 2009 World Baseball Classic and later guided the Eugene Emeralds to a Northwest League championship and Manager of the Year honors in 2016 before returning to coaching roles with the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Angels.
Poreda’s Four‑Decade Stewardship
Mike Poreda, affectionately known as ‘Po,’ has been a constant presence in the Bisons organization for over four decades. Starting as a ticket coordinator in 1986, he oversaw the transition from The Rockpile to Pilot Field, helped maintain six straight million‑ticket seasons, and managed operations for All‑Star Games and concerts. His responsibilities have spanned ticket office leadership, guest relations, and ushering, ensuring a seamless experience for fans. Poreda’s personal story includes graduation from Medaille College, residence in Tonawanda with his wife Janet, and active support of the Down Syndrome Parents Group of WNY.
Induction Brunch and Community Impact
The honorees will be celebrated at a special induction brunch scheduled before the August 9 game, an event that will bring together players, alumni, and community leaders. Both Feliciano and Poreda have deep ties to local charities, with Feliciano currently serving as Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Baseball Academy and High School, and Poreda remaining a longtime supporter of the Down Syndrome Parents Group of WNY.
