The full schedule will be unveiled on July 15, 2026, and will feature a marquee ESPN tripleheader that includes the Boston Bruins versus the New York Rangers and the Vegas Golden Knights against the Chicago Blackhawks. Alongside the traditional slate, the league has scheduled a series of global showcase events that will take the sport to new markets.

Highlights of the international calendar include the 2026 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic in Winnipeg, where the Jets will face the Montreal Canadiens, and the NHL Global Series legs in Helsinki and Düsseldorf. The Finland leg will showcase the Hurricanes versus the Seattle Kraken, while the Germany leg will pit the Ottawa Senators against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Domestic opening nights will also feature compelling storylines. The Toronto Maple Leafs are set to host the Montreal Canadiens, while the Edmonton Oilers, under coach Mike Babcock, will take on the Vancouver Canucks coached by Manny Malhotra. Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins are scheduled to meet the Philadelphia Flyers on September 30, and Artemi Panarin’s Los Angeles Kings will square off against Nathan MacKinnon’s Colorado Avalanche on the same evening.
