Monty Taylor, a noted college baseball analyst, recently placed the University of North Carolina among his Way‑Too‑Early projections for the 2027 Omaha Eight, the group of teams expected to compete in the College World Series. Alongside UNC, his list includes traditional powerhouses such as LSU, Arizona State, Mississippi State, Texas, Oklahoma and Virginia, setting the stage for a competitive field.
