Maryland men's basketball head coach Buzz Williams has unveiled the schedule for this year's Buzz's Bunch event, a free summer camp designed for children with special needs, set to take place on Saturday, August 1 at the University of Maryland's College Park campus.
Buzz's Bunch: A tradition of inclusion
Originating in 2008 during Williams' tenure at Marquette, the program has evolved into a nationwide network of more than 300 participants, offering a week‑long experience that blends basketball fundamentals with social connection.
Held inside the XFINITY Center, the camp convenes on the first Saturday of August each year, providing a structured environment where youngsters learn drills, teamwork, and confidence.
Beyond the court, members enjoy perks such as complimentary tickets to Maryland games, meet‑and‑greets with Coach Buzz, his coaching staff, and current Terrapins players, and a special Buzz's Bunch Game that grants free access and a behind‑the‑scenes look before warm‑ups.
The initiative underscores the program's broader mission: to create a supportive community where families can share experiences, build lasting friendships, and see the power of sport in fostering inclusion.
