The Southwest Valley Baseball program, known as the Timberwolves, closed the season with an 11‑10 record, delivering the team’s first winning campaign since 2008 and sparking optimism across the community.
Head coach Keegan Longabaugh praised the effort, noting that the win total could have been even higher had a few close games swung the other way.
At the core of the lineup are three juniors — Ethan Johnston, Brody Crozier and Walker Bissell — who accounted for much of the team’s offensive and pitching production.
Bissell, who primarily served as the bullpen’s reliever, batted .453, hit two home runs and drove in 32 runs, showcasing his impact both at the plate and on the mound.
The only senior on the roster, Gavin Wetzel, started every game, posted a 3.84 ERA and led the team with a .433 batting average, providing steady leadership for the younger core.
Looking ahead
Adding to the excitement, freshmen Caleb Owen, Hudson Bissell and Griffin Wetzel earned starting roles this season and are expected to continue their development.
With a blend of experienced veterans and emerging talent, the Timberwolves look poised to build on this momentum in the coming years.
