The Pleasantville baseball squad secured its third consecutive appearance at the state tournament after a decisive 15‑0 victory over Albia in the Class 2A Substate 5 final, a result that underscores the team’s consistency and growing confidence.
Starting pitcher Brayden Kennedy delivered a stellar four‑inning performance, allowing no runs while striking out several batters and setting a calm tone for the offense that followed.
The third inning proved explosive, as the Trojans erupted for 13 runs. The rally featured RBIs from Will Mesecher, a clutch single from Logan Roff, a timely double by Braylon Bingham, a run‑producing single from Noah Rist, a sacrifice fly from Brody Adreon, an RBI double by Luke Vestal, and an RBI single from Brayden Kennedy himself.
