A Recruiting Boost for the Hawkeyes
Iowa’s women’s basketball program announced this week that it has extended a scholarship offer to Jojo Martin, a 5‑foot‑10 guard from Westminster, Colorado, who is projected as the No. 2 combo guard in the 2029 class.
Martin, who currently attends Standley Lake High School and competes with Hardwood Elite on the Adidas 3SSB circuit, posted a freshman season that turned heads: 23.4 points, 9.8 rebounds, 5.5 steals and 3.6 assists per game, shooting a crisp 58 % from the field.
The Hawkeyes join a growing list of suitors that includes Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Utah, Colorado and Kansas, all of which have courted the Colorado standout after seeing her statistical surge.
Coach praised Martin’s blend of scoring and defensive intensity, noting that her 58 % shooting reflects a polished offensive skill set that should translate well to the Big Ten.
Beyond the numbers, Martin’s commitment signals a recruiting win for Iowa, which continues to build momentum in the Midwest and beyond as it seeks to replenish a roster that has been a perennial contender in women’s college basketball.
