Razorbacks Land Top Prospect Caleb Ourigou
Caleb Ourigou, a four‑star center ranked No. 8 among the 2027 prospects, announced his commitment to the Arkansas Razorbacks on Tuesday. The pledge comes as the program eyes a possible reclassification of the recruit to the 2026 class, a move that would allow him to join the roster a year earlier.
Ourigou chose Arkansas over a slate of suitors that included BYU, UConn and Kentucky, each of which had pursued the recruit during his high‑school career. The decision follows a highly successful visit to Fayetteville, where the Razorbacks’ staff impressed the player with their vision for his development.
On the Nike EYBL circuit, Ourigou has been a standout, averaging 12.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and two blocks over four games at the Memphis Session II. His composite rating of 0.9800 places him at No. 55 overall in the 247Sports rankings, a jump from No. 90 earlier in the cycle.
Recruiting insider Dushawn London praised Ourigou’s performance, noting that the prospect’s versatility and defensive presence have attracted major‑program interest from Auburn, Florida and other powerhouses. Arkansas now hopes to leverage the commitment to strengthen its frontcourt for the upcoming season.
