Four-star defensive lineman Kadin Fife, a top prospect from Alabama, stunned the college football recruiting world when he announced his commitment to the Louisville Cardinals on Wednesday.

Fife had been pledged to the Tennessee Volunteurs since November 2025, but after official visits to Ole Miss, Tennessee and Georgia he reversed course, catching analysts off guard and delivering a headline‑making flip.
Ranked as the 46th defensive lineman nationally and the 390th overall prospect, Fife also holds the distinction of being the No. 19 recruit in Alabama. His decision lifts Louisville to the No. 50 spot in the national team rankings, marking one of the program’s highest‑rated commitments.
The flip comes at a time when the Georgia Bulldogs, under coach Kirby Smart, have assembled 18 pledges in the 2027 cycle and sit at No. 14 in the composite rankings. Smart’s program has traditionally been a magnet for elite talent, making Fife’s choice to Louisville all the more surprising.
For Louisville, the commitment signals a resurgence under coach Jeff Brohm, whose staff has now secured 16 pledges in the class of 2027. The Cardinals hope the addition of a high‑caliber defensive lineman will help them climb the recruiting ladder and attract further talent.
