A Homecoming for the Bearcats' Standout
Jayden Anding, a 4-star safety from Ruston High School in Louisiana, revealed his decision to join LSU Football, ending a highly anticipated recruitment that had drawn interest from several Power Five programs.
Anding’s pledge marks the second commitment the Tigers have secured from the 2027 class, underscoring the coaching staff’s ability to convert local talent into future SEC contributors.
During his junior season, Anding was a cornerstone of Ruston’s defense, tallying 49 tackles, three pass breakups, a fumble recovery and three interceptions while guiding the Bearcats to the LHSAA Non-Select Division I state championship game.
The prospect cited the relationships he built with LSU’s coaches and the sense of belonging he felt on campus as decisive factors, while also expressing excitement about the opportunity to compete in Death Valley and stay close to home.
Anding, who also holds offers from Oklahoma, Miami, Arkansas and Mississippi State, plans to spend the upcoming summer relaxing and focusing on his upcoming commitments, signaling a measured approach to his next chapter.
