During a Monday press conference, Florida State Seminoles head coach Mike Norvell provided an update on the condition of several players as the program gears up for its preseason camp.
Injury Landscape for the Seminoles
Sophomore wide receiver Jayvan Boggs missed part of the spring with an injury but has been progressing well, while redshirt senior linebacker Mikai Gbayor also overcame a spring setback and is now in good shape. Redshirt senior defensive lineman Jordan Sanders, who missed the entire spring, is fully expected to be ready for action. Freshman defensive end Cam Brooks, injured during winter workouts, will be limited early in the season, whereas freshman linebacker Izayia Williams has recovered from a knee issue and is ready to go. Junior linebacker Chris Thomas is currently rehabbing a knee injury and showing promising physical development.
The Seminoles open their regular season on August 29 against New Mexico State at 7 p.m., a date that looms large as the team finalizes its roster and evaluates the health of its key contributors.
