Brian Kelly Joins CBS Sports as College Football Analyst

The former LSU and Notre Dame coach will debut on Week 0 and bring his experience to two Pac‑12 matchups, while Doug Pederson also comes aboard.

Strategic Additions to CBS Sports

CBS Sports has added Brian Kelly, the former head coach of LSU and Notre Dame, to its roster of college football analysts and made him a regular contributor to the show “Inside College Football.”

Kelly’s first broadcast appearance will come in the booth for the Week 0 matchup between Jacksonville State and North Dakota State on August 29, a game that will serve as a preview of the network’s fall schedule.

The network has slated him to cover two Pac‑12 Conference games later in the season, beginning with Texas Tech at Oregon State in Week 2 and then BYU at Colorado State the following week.

Kelly’s move to broadcasting follows his dismissal by LSU last October after a three‑plus year tenure that produced a 34‑14 record, a stint that ended with the school parting ways with the coach.

In a separate development, CBS also announced that Doug Pederson, who previously coached the Philadelphia Eagles, will join the network as an analyst for ten games on CBS Sports Network this fall.

Both hires reflect a broader effort by the network to bolster its college football coverage with seasoned leadership as the fall slate approaches, promising viewers a fresh perspective from veteran coaches.
