Zachary Murray Joins Tulsa Oilers for Full Professional Season
Zachary Murray has officially inked a deal that will see him spend his first full professional season with the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL.
The 25‑year‑old forward arrives after a nine‑game cameo in the 2025‑26 campaign where he posted six points, and he already showed his scoring touch by netting two goals in his second professional outing.
A Legacy in the Making
Murray’s pedigree extends beyond the ice; he is the son of Tulsa Oilers head coach Rob Murray, a connection that adds a familial narrative to his rookie storyline.
His college years at Amherst College were marked by a standout junior season in which he set career highs with 19 goals and 45 points in 61 games, culminating in a senior campaign that yielded nine points in 19 appearances.
Across his NCAA tenure he amassed 53 points in 92 games for the Mammoths, a testament to his offensive consistency, while his junior stint in the North American Hockey League saw him compile 62 points in 105 contests.
The Oilers organization views Murray as a promising piece for future depth, hoping his blend of size, work ethic and heritage will translate into a sustained NHL trajectory.
