The Kingston Post No. 150 junior baseball team saw its district championship hopes evaporate on Sunday, July 26, as Rockland County Pirates Post No. 130 edged them 4‑3 in the eighth inning at Gruner Field in Lake Katrine, New York.
Despite the final score, Kingston compiled eight hits, with Michael Canosa, Ryan Murphy and Maddix Williams each delivering two knocks, while Charles Bauer added a timely RBI to keep the lead alive.
Murphy, who started on the mound, worked 5 ⅔ innings, striking out six batters and walking five, but the Pirates managed to rally in the closing frame to secure the victory.
