The Brantford Bulldogs have announced the signing of forward Kayden Kelly, a highly touted prospect from the Markham Waxers U16 program. The move comes as the team looks to bolster its offensive depth ahead of the upcoming season, and it marks the third addition from the club’s 2026 Priority Selection class.
A Record‑Setting Season in the OMHA
During the 2025‑26 campaign Kelly led the Waxers in both goals and points, netting 44 goals in 31 league games and adding 76 points over 58 appearances. His blend of speed, physicality and a powerful shot made him one of the most feared attackers in the league.
Kelly’s impact was not limited to the regular season; in the OMHA playoffs he contributed six points, including two goals and four assists, over ten games. The coaching staff rewarded his leadership by naming him an assistant captain for the season, a testament to his influence both on and off the ice.
Bulldogs President Spencer Hyman praised the new signing, highlighting Kelly’s skating ability, puck‑handling skills and shot as qualities that will translate well to the professional game. Hyman expressed confidence that Kelly will be given ample opportunity to develop his talents at the next level.
The acquisition underscores the Bulldogs’ strategy of targeting elite talent from the Ontario hockey circuit and integrating them into a competitive roster. Fans can look forward to seeing how the young forward adapts to the senior game and contributes to the club’s pursuit of a championship.
