The 12th edition of Camp Bowers unfolded this week at the Columbia Sports Fieldhouse, drawing more than 500 eager youngsters ready to learn the fundamentals of basketball.

Current members of the Missouri Tigers men’s and women’s squads — including Bryson Tiller, who arrived from Kansas last season, and freshman Aidan Chronister — took on the role of coaches, guiding campers through drills and games.
For Tiller, the camp offered a chance to bond with new teammates and embed himself in the Columbia community, a priority as the Tigers aim to build chemistry heading into the upcoming season.
Chronister quickly became a fan favorite, recalling how similar youth camps shaped his own love for the game and now allowing him to give back.
Senior Abbey Schreacke of the Missouri women’s basketball team returned for her fourth summer, noting that campers still recognize her from previous years and that the experience reinforces her belief that basketball is more than competition — it's a platform for service.
The week also served as a vital bonding period for the Tigers, as they practiced together and refined their on‑court chemistry, but the lasting legacy may be the smiles and new skills left with the campers.
