Old Dominion University has released its non‑conference schedule for the 2026‑27 men’s basketball season, a 14‑game lineup that blends home‑court advantages with tests against programs from a variety of conferences.
The schedule guarantees eight contests on the Monarchs’ home floor at Chartway Arena, giving the team a strong foundation as it builds chemistry early in the year.
A challenging road ahead
The campaign kicks off with an exhibition tilt against Virginia Commonwealth University on October 17, 2026, before the regular season opens at home versus Western Michigan on November 2. A short stretch later, ODU will host Regent University on November 4 before traveling to Bucknell on November 7.
Among the marquee matchups, the Monarchs are slated to meet in‑state rivals Virginia on November 17 and later journey to Blacksburg for a showdown with Virginia Tech on November 27. Additional regional tests include a home game against Norfolk State on November 11 and a road trip to face Hampton on November 24.
December brings a series of home contests against Drexel on December 1 and the University of Richmond on December 5, followed by a trip to George Mason on December 12. The year will close with home games versus The Apprentice School and Charleston Southern before the holiday break.
Overall, the Monarchs will navigate 17 home games and 15 road contests, positioning themselves for a competitive stretch that culminates in the second round of the MAC‑Sun Belt Challenge, to be announced in January 2027.
