Suvanto will remain under contract with Tappara of Finland’s Liiga for the upcoming 2026‑27 season, a league in which he posted two goals and nine assists for a total of 11 points across 48 games last year.
Scouting reports had positioned him as the top‑ranked international center among European prospects, a status that helped him rise to the Capitals’ first round despite being just 17 years old.
