PWHL San Jose has announced the hiring of Uffe Lundberg and Jessica Turi as assistant coaches for its inaugural 2026‑27 season, marking a strategic addition to the franchise’s coaching roster.
Coaching Vision and Experience
Lundberg, who guided Sweden’s National Women’s Hockey Team to a bronze‑medal game at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games, arrives with a résumé that includes stints as head coach of the Swedish national side and a reputation for tactical acumen and player development.
Turi, a former coach at York University and the Toronto Six who captured the 2023 Isobel Cup, also served as an assistant coach and head scout at the University of Toronto, earning multiple national and international coaching accolades.
General Manager and Head Coach Troy Ryan praised the newcomers, highlighting Lundberg’s communication skills and Turi’s character and ability to connect with athletes as key assets for building a competitive culture.
Both coaches expressed enthusiasm about contributing to the team’s culture and about the prospect of playing in front of fans at the SAP Center when the PWHL San Jose makes its debut in the fall of 2026.
