The past week saw the high school baseball circuits of Shawnee County deliver a cascade of memorable moments, as teams from Rossville, Shawnee Heights, Topeka High and their rivals clashed in a series of tightly contested games from May 4 through May 9.
Pitching Excellence
Conner Bush of Rossville turned in a complete‑game effort on May 4, limiting St. Marys to six batters while fanning six opponents, a performance that underscored his poise on the mound.
Brody Cooper of Shawnee Heights matched that feat with a seven‑strikeout outing against Washburn Rural, surrendering just one earned run and demonstrating the depth of talent across the county.
