Brooke Bryant, a Stockton native, has etched her name into hockey history by becoming the first player born in California to sign a contract with the Professional Women’s Hockey League, joining the league’s San Jose franchise.
Early Days on the Driveway
Growing up, Bryant honed her skills on a makeshift rink in her family’s driveway, swapping rollerblades for a stick and puck before she ever stepped onto an ice surface. Those early improvisations laid the foundation for a love of the game that would later blossom in Northern California’s youth programs.
Her formative years with the Jr. Sharks gave her some of her most cherished memories, as the team provided the first all‑girls environment where she could compete alongside peers who shared her passion.
