Jean Fox, a former star of the All‑American Girls Professional Baseball League, recently took part in a reunion of league alumni held in Rockford, Illinois.
The gathering brought together former players to celebrate the league’s storied history and the communities where it thrived.
From the Diamond to the Hall
Fox played for the Rockford Peaches in 1952 before moving to the Kalamazoo and Muskegon teams in 1953, showcasing the league’s reach across the Midwest.
Her name is etched on the AAGPBL plaque at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, a permanent tribute to the women who helped shape the sport.
In 1996, Fox received another honor when she was inducted into the Bureau County Sports Hall of Fame, cementing her place in local baseball lore.
The reunion served as a reminder of the league’s impact and the enduring friendships forged on and off the field.
