Gabe Gross, who has served as Auburn Tigers' associate head coach for the past nine seasons, announced that he will transition out of the role to take on a new position as special assistant for athletics engagement.
In his new capacity, Gross will lend his expertise to fundraising initiatives and make regular appearances on radio and television broadcasts, helping to raise the profile of the program beyond the diamond.
A legacy of development and success
A former Auburn player who earned first‑round honors in the MLB draft, Gross returned to his alma mater in 2012 and quickly rose through the ranks. Under his guidance as hitting coach, the team posted a .286 batting average and produced seven of the program’s top ten single‑season home run totals.
His impact is reflected in the talent he has helped develop: 17 players he coached have been selected in the MLB Draft, six earned All‑American honors, and 21 were named All‑SEC.
Gross explained that the move is part of a broader effort to balance his professional commitments with personal priorities, noting that he is stepping back to spend more time with his family.
