Virtual Media Day Set to Spotlight 2026 KCAC Football Season

The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) will hold a virtual media day on August 21, 2026, to preview the upcoming football season. The event, presented by IMA Financial Group, will stream live on the Urban Edge Network (UEN) and its companion app.

Fourteen coaches from member institutions will participate, with their pre‑recorded interviews released at 20‑minute intervals beginning at 9:00 a.m. Central Time. The schedule was announced by conference officials, who emphasized the day’s role in generating excitement among fans and alumni.

Cory Thorpe of NAIAFBall will conduct the interviews, which feature insights from longtime mentors such as Ed Warinner, Mike Grossner, Josh Lawson, Chuck Hepola, Terry Harrison, Matt Middleton, Jeremiah Fiscus, Nick Davis, Brad Griffin, Reggie Langford Jr., Mike Gardner and Taylor Calvert. Their diverse experiences reflect the competitive depth of the KCAC, a conference founded in 1890 and recognized as the second‑oldest intercollegiate athletic league in the United States.

IMA Financial Group, a top‑10 independently owned retail insurance broker in the U.S., said the partnership aligns with its commitment to supporting collegiate athletics and community outreach. The Urban Edge Network, a platform dedicated to amplifying the voices of HBCUs, NAIA schools and the NBA G League, will broadcast the sessions across its digital channels.

The KCAC, a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), sponsors 28 varsity sports and continues to grow its footprint nationwide. Conference leaders expressed optimism that the virtual format will broaden access for supporters unable to attend in person, while also highlighting the academic and athletic achievements of its member institutions.

Looking Ahead to a Competitive Season

With the 2026 season on the horizon, coaches are expected to discuss strategy, player development and the unique challenges of preparing teams amid a rapidly evolving college sports landscape. The media day’s lineup promises a rich tapestry of perspectives, underscoring the conference’s reputation for competitive balance and sportsmanship.
